Tom Henman received his Communications of Arts diploma from Pennsylvania College of Art and Design in 1992. After college he returned to his home town of Ocean City, Maryland to pursue a career as a Art Director for a local publisher. In 1997 he returned to Lancaster and held the position of Art Director for a direct mail advertising agency, where he was responsible for creating corporate identities, catalogs and direct mail campaigns.
In 2005, Tom decided to follow a new found passion, decorative painting. He is professionally trained by Carol Kemery of The Finishing School, one of the nation’s finest teaching studios for the art of decorative painting founded by Ina Brosseau Marx, Allen Marx and Bob Marx.
Since Tom’s initial training in 2005, he has continued his studies with Bob Marx and Carol Kemery of The Finishing School, Melanie Royals of Royal Design Studio and Modello Designs, Barb Skivingston of Faux Works Studio, Victoria Bingham of Buon Fresco, The Academy of Wall Artistry, Gian Carlo Sagasti of Firenze Color, Miami, Eli Lucero of iVenetian, Chris Burke of Mr Faux, Henri Mendendez of Dehuelbes Designs Inc. and even studied the application of authentic Moroccan Tadelakt plaster in Marrakech, Morooco.
Over the years, Tom has traveled nationally and internationally for commissions. He had the pleasure of being hand picked by Carol Kemery to work at Bruce Springsteen’s home in New Jersey and Hollywood Casino in Grantville, PA.
